U S Glass Reverse 44 or Paneled 44, Athenia, 8" Handled Footed Dish, 1912

Old and Beautiful Dish - This old pressed glass dish was made by the U S Glass Company, around 1912. It has two handles and is footed. The pattern has had several different names over time, Reverse 44, Paneled 44 or Athenia. The names with 44 are an attempt to describe the pattern around the top, which looks like 44 forward and backward with a flower in between. A very lovely pattern. This piece contains the very rare mark of a U over an S, for U S Glass. The glass is clear and bright. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
